The beginnings

Pam and her mumIn 2007 Juliette set up Red Cave. After working for over 15 years designing in the Fashion Industry, plus raising a demanding family, she still felt driven to create again...

So Juliette and her mum Pam, who was an excellent knitter, a great motivator and support, started designing and making up items to sell at small craft shows and gift exhibitions.

They first added knitwear and woven bags. Pam initially did all the knitting and her daughter used the sewing machine. Then they created the company name and Red Cave was born.

Over time their customers kept demanding a website. So mum and daughter got to work organising, enlisting more knitters from the UK. They now have a small team plus a lovely local lady to help out with the machine sewing. Juliette's dad a successful artist also continues to assist in the day to day demands of running a small business.

There was then, much needed help that came from Juliettes husband, Serdar Simga, assisting with all the photography. An experienced Visual Effects supervisor and international matte painter working in the film industry. www.virtualmattes.com

Finally, help came, when Juliette's brother Dan (living in California) recommended his friend and Web developer, Tim Tumbleson. Tim designed and developed the whole amazing Red Cave website, the layout, the setup, and the inital running, all from his desk in Madison, WI, USA!

So Far, mum and daughter have loved non-stop creating and hope to continue to add more to the website in the future... They aim to inspire their audience, for the search for all things creative and hand crafted made in the UK.
